
NEW YORK, July 22 (UPI) -- Jimmy Rollins' two-run double in a six-run ninth led the Philadelphia Phillies to an 8-6 victory Tuesday over the New York Mets.
The Phillies were trailing by three runs to start the ninth. Reliefer Duaner Sanchez tried to close out the game, but didn't record an out and the Phillies loaded the bases. Taguchi tied the game with a pinch-hit, two-run double and Rollins gave them the lead with his double.
Brad Lidge gave up a run in the ninth on Carlos Beltran's RBI groundout, but finished the game to pick up his 22nd save.
Joe Blanton made his first start for Philadelphia and gave up five runs on eight hits in six innings. Chad Durbin (3-2) got the win for pitching a perfect eighth inning.
Carlos Delgado and Ramon Castro each hit two-run home runs for the Mets. Johan Santana gave up two runs on eight hits in eight innings.Joe Smith (1-2) was charged with the loss.
