MLB: N.Y. Yankees 12, Minnesota 4

NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano homered Monday to lead the New York Yankees in a 16-hit, 12-4 rout of the Minnesota Twins.

Sidney Ponson (6-1) gave up three runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. Yankees' starters have allowed three earned runs or fewer in 10 of their last 11 games.

Rodriguez had a two-run homer and three RBI and Jeter and Cano both had two RBI for the Yankees, who have won four in a row.

Nick Blackburn (7-6) gave up six runs on seven hits in 1 2/3 innings.

Denard Span was 3-for-4, Alexi Casilla had two RBI, and Carlos Gomez and Jason Kubel each had an RBI for the Twins.
