Melvin Mora had three hits and three RBI, including a two-run homer in the first. Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis had two hits each, with Roberts adding an RBI for the Orioles, who have split their last four games.

The winner was closer George Sherrill (3-4).

Detroit's Miguel Cabrera hit a three-run homer and an RBI ground-out. Jeff Larish hit a two-run homer. Magglio Ordonez hit two sacrifice flies.

Matt Joyce had one RBI and Placido Polanco had four hits and one RBI for the Tigers, who have lost just twice in 43 games this season when leading after eight innings.
