Tommie Harris' wife dies

ST. LOUIS, July 20 (UPI) -- Aaron Miles' ninth-inning grand slam home run Sunday gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 9-5 victory over the San Diego Padres.
A walk followed by a throwing error on a pickoff attempt and two intentional walks loaded the bases with one out for Miles, who lashed a fastball into the bullpen in right field.
Troy Glaus hit a three-run homer, and Albert Pujols and Rick Ankiel each drove in a run in St. Louis' fifth straight win.
Brad Thompson (2-2) was the winner in relief.
Scott Hairston hit a solo homer for the Padres, who have dropped six straight contests.
Bryan Corey (1-2), victim of the Cards' ninth-inning rally, was the loser.
