DENVER, July 20 (UPI) -- Jorge De La Rosa yielded an earned run and seven hits in six innings Saturday to help the Colorado Rockies trounce the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-1.

De La Rosa's job was made easier when Colorado scored five times in the bottom of the first. De La Rosa (4-5) walked two batters, fanned seven and threw 60 of his 102 pitches for strikes.

Both Garrett Atkins and Omar Quintanilla knocked in two runs. Three others had one RBI.

Scott Podsednik had four hits. Brad Hawpe had three hits, while Quintanilla added two hits for the Rockies, who have won the first three contests in the post all-star break four-game series.

Pittsburgh's lone run scored on Ryan Doumit's first inning single. Freddy Sanchez had three of the eight hits for the Pirates, who have lost four in a row.

Losing pitcher Yoslan Herrera (0-1) surrendered seven earned runs and eight hits in his second major league start.
