TORONTO, July 19 (UPI) -- Joe Cannon saved a penalty kick Saturday to help the San Jose Earthquakes tie Toronto FC 0-0 in Major League Soccer play as both failed to end winless skids.

Cannon denied Toronto midfielder Amado Guevara in the 69th minute en route to his sixth shutout this season.

The Earthquakes (3-9-5) are winless in seven matches and have scored just two goals in their last six. San Jose was shut out for the 10th time and has just 11 goals all season.

Toronto FC (6-6-4) extended its home unbeaten streak to 11 games dating back to last season.
