MINNEAPOLIS, July 18 (UPI) -- Glen Perkins and three relievers combined to throw a three-hitter Friday, lifting the Minnesota Twins to a 6-0 whipping of Texas.

Perkins (7-2) allowed the three hits in a six-inning stint. Craig Breslow, Jesse Crain and Boof Bonser then worked a perfect inning each.

It was the fifth straight victory for Perkins.

Jason Kubel delivered a two-run single as part of a four-run seventh that broke the game open. Brian Buscher also had two RBI, helping the Twins to their fourth win in five games.

Kevin Millwood (6-6) took the loss, surrendering 11 hits and five runs in 6 1/3.

Michael Young extended his hitting streak to 16 games for the Rangers, who suffered their first shutout of the season.

Ian Kinsler's 25-game hitting streak came to an end. He wound up three short of the Texas franchise record, set by Gabe Kapler in 2000.
