SAN DIEGO, July 17 (UPI) -- Natasha Kai scored in the 85th minute Wednesday to give the United States a 1-0 win over Brazil in an Olympic tune-up.

It was the second exhibition victory in a week for the Americans over the defending World Cup champions, but Team USA star Abby Wambach left the field in the first half with a leg injury.

Wambach was carried off on a stretcher in the 33rd minute after colliding with Brazilian defender Andreia Rosa. She was taken to a local hospital for X-rays.

Wambach has scored 99 goals in her international career and is being counted on next month when the Americans go after their second straight Olympic gold medal.

The United States has a 21

1 record under Coach Pia Sundhage this year.

The women's Olympic soccer tournament begins Aug. 7, the day before the opening ceremonies. Team USA will meet Norway in its opening match.
