
COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 17 (UPI) -- Barros Schelotto scored a goal and assisted on two others Thursday, bringing Columbus a 3-3 tie with Kansas City in Major League Soccer action.
Columbus overcame a 2-0 deficit with three straight goals, but Kansas City forced the tie when Josh Wolff scored in the 75th minute.
Wolff was making his first appearance with the Wizards since 2006. He played four seasons with Kansas City before joining a second-division German team last year, and then signed a four-year contract with the Wizards last month.
Kansas City (5-5-6) extended its unbeaten streak to five games. Columbus (8-5-4) moved to within five points of Eastern Conference leader New England.
Frankie Hejduk and Roger Espinoza scored the game's first two goals for Kansas City.
