
CHICAGO, July 15 (UPI) -- Indianapolis attorney Jack Swarbrick is set to be named as athletic director at Notre Dame, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.
The announcement is expected Wednesday.
Notre Dame has been without an athletic director since Kevin White left the school on June 1 to take the same position at Duke.
Swarbrick, a Notre Dame graduate, has not been an athletic administrator at the collegiate level. He was a finalist, however, for the job as president of the NCAA when that position was given to Myles Brand in 2002.
He has been mentioned for the athletic director position at Arizona State, Ohio State and Indiana.
Swarbrick was vice president of the committee that was successful in its bid to bring the 2012 Super Bowl to Indianapolis.
