Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

STATELINE, Nev., July 13 (UPI) -- Former big league pitcher Rick Rhoden won the American Century celebrity golf championship for the seventh time Sunday.
Rhoden birdied the final two holes at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada to finish with 23 points for the day and 68 overall in the Stableford scoring system.
Former NHL player Dan Quinn placed second with 67 points. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and ex-NHL goalie Grant Fuhr shared third with 64.
Actor Jack Wagner and former NHL players Pierre Larouche and Brett Hull were next with 62.
In the Stableford system, players get six points for an eagle, three for a birdie, one for a par and zero for a bogey. Two points are subtracted for each double-bogey or worse.
