PHILADELPHIA, July 12 (UPI) -- Jayson Werth singled in So Taguchi with one out in the 12th inning Friday, giving the Philadelphia Phillies a 6-5 victory over Arizona.
The Phillies won their third straight, coming up with a two-run triple by Shane Victorino in the eighth to bring about a 5-5 tie.
Philadelphia put a runner in scoring position in the ninth, 10th and 11th without breaking through, but the Phillies finally got a big hit in the 12th off Connor Robertson, who was called up from Class AAA last weekend.
Taguchi singled to open the 12th and moved to second on a sacrifice by Chris Coste. After Jimmy Rollins was walked intentionally, Werth singled to right on a 2-2 pitch.
That made a winner out of Rudy Seanez (4-3), the seventh Philadelphia pitcher of the game. He needed just eight pitches to work a perfect top of the 12th.
