Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DETROIT, July 12 (UPI) -- Brendan Harris homered and had four RBI Saturday to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 6-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers.
Joe Mauer had a two-run homer for the Twins, who held off a late Tigers rally for their third straight win in the series.
Scott Baker (6-2) won for the fourth time in five games after giving up four runs on six hits in seven innings, without a walk. Joe Nathan pitched a scoreless ninth for his 27th save.
Matt Joyce and Curtis Granderson each hit a two-run homer for the Tigers, who almost closed a four-run deficit. Ryan Raburn drove in the other run.
Detroit's Nate Robertson (6-8) gave up five runs on 10 hits in seven innings.
