TOULOUSE, France, July 12 (UPI) -- Briton Mark Cavendish won his second stage of the Tour de France Saturday, sprinting through rain to take the Stage 8 run from Figeac to Toulouse.
Cavendish completed a 172.5-kilometer (107-mile) ride in 4 hours, 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
Gerald Ciolek of Germany was second, 30 seconds behind, and Jimmy Casper of France third.
Luxembourg's Kim Kirchen finished 41st but held on to his overall race lead.
Stage 9 Sunday is a 224-kilometer (139-mile) stretch from Toulouse to Bagneres de Bigorre.
