NEW YORK, July 11 (UPI) -- New York Mets third baseman David Wright will replace the injured Alfonso Soriano on the National League roster in the Major League All-star Game Tuesday.

Mets General Manager Omar Minaya advised Wright that he had been selected, a report on the MLB Web site said.

The 25-year-old Wright had finished behind Milwaukee's Corey Hart in voting for the final roster spot.

Wright, in his third all-star contest but first as a reserve, leads the Mets with 17 home runs and 70 RBI this season.

Soriano, an outfielder, was chosen for the team but is unable to play because of a broken bone in his left ring finger.

The game will be played at New York's Yankee Stadium.
