WASHINGTON, July 11 (UPI) -- Two homers by Ronnie Belliard and another by Austin Kearns accounted for seven runs Friday and sent the Washington Nationals cruising past Houston 10-0.
Houston starter Roy Oswalt aggravated a hip injury and left the game after one inning. Five relievers followed for the Astros and Washington teed off on two of them -- Chad Paronto and Dave Borkowski.
Belliard hit a two-run homer in the second off Paronto (0-1), who gave up three runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings. Belliard added a three-run blast off Borkowski in the fifth and Kearns tagged Borkowski for a two-run homer in the sixth.
Tim Redding (7-3) allowed seven hits over six innings with six strikeouts to get the win. Steven Shell recorded a three-inning save, his first of the year.
