NEW YORK, July 11 (UPI) -- Damion Easley's solo homer in the eighth put New York in front Friday and the Mets held on to win their seventh straight game -- 2-1 over Colorado.
Five New York pitchers combined to limit the Rockies to three hits.
With the game deadlocked in the eighth, Colorado loaded the bases with two out. But Pedro Feliciano got Jayson Nix to ground out to first to end the inning.
Easley came up with two away in the bottom half of the inning and homered to center on a 3-2 pitch off Taylor Buchholz (3-3).
Billy Wagner struck out two in the ninth to earn his 21st save and preserve the win for Feliciano (2-2), who retired just one batter.
Brad Hawpe put Colorado in front in the fifth with his 14th homer of the year and Jose Reyes tied it in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single.
