MLB: Chicago Cubs 3, San Francisco 1

CHICAGO, July 11 (UPI) -- Aramis Ramirez ripped a three-run home run in the eighth inning Friday, boosting the Chicago Cubs to a 3-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

Ramirez broke a scoreless tie with his shot down the left field line off Tyler Walker (3-5).

Ryan Theriot had two hits and scored a run for the Cubs, who have won four of their last five games.

Bengie Molina singled in a run in the ninth for the Giants, who have dropped five games in a row.

Bob Ho wry (3-2) was credited with the win after pitching a perfect eighth inning. Kerry Wood recorded his 24Th save.
