FLORIDA MARLINS VS NEW YORK METS

NEW YORK, July 10 (UPI) -- An MRI Thursday revealed that 42-year-old New York Mets left fielder Moises Alou has a torn left hamstring and is likely sidelined for the rest of the season.

The Mets recommended surgery but the decision is up to Alou.

"The reality is that he's going to be out for a very long time," General Manager Omar Minaya said.

. Alou is a career .303 hitter with 332 home runs and 1,287 RBI.
