OAKLAND, Calif., July 10 (UPI) -- A three-run double by Jose Lopez highlighted a five-run fifth Wednesday and helped rally Seattle to a 6-4 victory over Oakland.
The Mariners ended a three-game skid, even though starting pitcher Miguel Batista had to leave the game after two innings with a groin strain.
Oakland took a 4-1 lead into the fifth, only to have the Mariners load the bases against Joe Blanton (5-12) on a hit batsman and two singles. Lopez then doubled to left, clearing the bases and tying the game.
Raul Ibanez doubled home Lopez to put Seattle in front and Ibanez scored on a single by Adrian Beltre.
Roy Corcoran (1-0) got the win by working 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief. Brandon Morrow, Seattle's sixth pitcher, worked around a ninth-inning walk for his eighth save.
