DETROIT, July 10 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau's solo home run in the 11th inning Thursday lifted the Minnesota Twins to a 7-6 victory over the Detroit Tigers.
Morneau had five hits in the Twins' come-from-behind win. Denard Span batted 4-for-4 and Nick Punto had three hits for Minnesota.
The Twins trailed by two runs in the top of ninth but caught up with a couple of singles, a sacrifice fly and an error by the Tigers' Matt Joyce that allowed a run to score.
Joyce homered and Jeff Larish had three hits and an RBI for Detroit.
Twins reliever Joe Nathan got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth and Matt Guerrier (5-4) notched the win after holding off the Tigers in the 11th.
Freddy Dolsi (1-3), the victim of Morneau's go-ahead blast, was the loser.
