Arbitrators rule against Orioles pitcher Bergesen

LOS ANGELES, July 10 (UPI) -- Derek Lowe took a shutout into the eighth inning and allowed just two hits Wednesday, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-1 win over Atlanta.
Lowe (7-8) narrowly out-dueled Tim Hudson in a fast-paced game in which the Braves fell for the eighth time in 11 outings.
Lowe had a 2-0 lead going into the eighth before Jeff Francoeur delivered a one-out homer. After Mark Kotsay drew a two-out walk, Jonathan Broxton relieved Lowe. The inning ended when Kotsay was caught stealing.
Takashi Saito worked a perfect ninth for his 17th save.
Hudson (9-7) gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings. Matt Kemp hit a sixth-inning homer for the Dodgers and Andruw Jones singled in a run in the seventh.
