Rezai and Wickmayer losers at Palermo

PALERMO, Italy, July 8 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Frenchwoman Aravane Rezai and sixth-seeded Belgian Yanina Wickmayer were among first-round losers Tuesday at the Palermo International.

Paraguay's Rossana De Los Rios defeated Rezai 6-4, 6-1, and Georgian Margalita Chakhnashvili beat Wickmayer 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.

Seventh-seeded Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva avoided an upset by outlasting Czech Renata Voracova 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 on Day 2.

Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino beat Katie O'Brien of Great Britain 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 and Corinna Dentoni defeated fellow Italian Alberta Brianti 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5.
