SAN DIEGO, July 8 (UPI) -- Ricky Nolasco held the Padres to one run on five hits in eight innings Monday night, leading the Florida Marlins to a 3-1 win over San Diego.
Nolasco (10-4) finished with seven strikeouts and ran his personal victory streak to a career-high five straight.
Kevin Gregg picked up his 16h save with a perfect ninth.
Jorge Cantu drove in two runs with a home run and Alfredo Amezaga had three hits for the Marlins, who won their second straight game.
Padres starter Greg Maddux (3-7) was the hard-luck loser, allowing just two runs -- one earned -- on four hits in six innings.
Bryan Corey let in one run in two innings of relief of Maddux.
Chase Headley accounted for San Diego's lone run with a fifth-inning homer.
