PHOENIX, July 6 (UPI) -- Scott Hairston had two homers and three RBI Saturday to lead the San Diego Padres' 4-2 victory against Arizona.
Hairston hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning and a solo shot in the sixth.
San Diego also got Adrian Gonzalez's solo homer in the ninth. Five others had one hit for the Padres, winners of back-to-back contests for the first time since June 11-12.
Winner Jake Peavy (6-5) surrendered three hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
After Heath Bell gave up a run, closer Trevor Hoffman recorded his 16th save.
Arizona's runs scored on Orlando Hudson's eighth-inning double and Stephen Drew's ninth-inning homer. Hudson had two of the seven hits in the Diamondbacks' fourth loss in their last five games.
Losing pitcher Doug Davis (3-4) gave up three earned runs and seven hits in eight innings with a walk and seven strikeouts.
