MLB: Florida 10, Colorado 5

DENVER, July 6 (UPI) -- Florida's hot-hitting Cody Ross homered and drove in five runs Sunday, powering the Marlins to a 10-5 win over the Colorado Rockies.

Ross clubbed a two-run homer, a two-run single and a run-scoring double to boost his RBI total to 15 in a holiday weekend series in which the Marlins dropped three out of four.

Mike Jacobs and Wes Helms each drove in two runs for the Marlins, who won for just the second time in six games.

Chris Volstad (1-0) was the winner in relief, tossing two scoreless innings.

Brad Hawpe homered and Ryan Spilborghs added two RBI for the Rockies, who had won their previous five contests.

Losing pitcher Aaron Cook (11-6) was pounded for seven runs and 11 hits in 7 1/3 innings.
