ENDICOTT, N.Y., July 5 (UPI) -- Eduardo Romero shot a 7-under 65 Saturday to take the second-round lead at the seniors' Dick's Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, N.Y.

Romero, who opened with a 65 in the first round Friday, was 14-under 130 for a one-shot lead over Fulton Allem and Joey Sindelar. It was the 53-year-old Argentine's lowest 36-hole total this season by six shots.

Allem and Sindelar also posted 65s Saturday to tie for second place at 13-under 131. Sindelar, who lives near the host course En-Joie, is a seven-time PGA Tour winner.

Joe Ozaki, who led Romero by two shots after shooting a 63 Friday, was seven shots worse in his second round. His 70 dropped him into fourth place at 11-under 133.

Bruce Vaughan (67) and Ronnie Black (68) shared fifth place at 10-under 134, while six more players were tied for seventh at nine-under 135.
