COMMERCE CITY, Colo., July 5 (UPI) -- Tom McManus opened the scoring in the 24th minute Friday and Colorado went on to crush New York 4-0 in Major League Soccer action.

The Rapids (6-8-1) snapped a four-game winless streak. It was their first victory since downing FC Dallas June 1.

Mehdi Ballouchy, Colin Clark and Omar Cummings also scored, while Bouna Coundoul recorded the shutout.

New York (5-5-5) fell to 1-4-3 on the road this season.

Clark set up McManus for the game's first goal. McManus, stationed near the right post, had an easy finish.

Ballouchy scored his first goal of the season in the 36th minute to give the Rapids a 2-0 halftime lead.
