DENVER, July 5 (UPI) -- Chris Iannetta finished off the biggest comeback in Rockies' history Friday with a ninth-inning, RBI single that gave Colorado a bizarre 18-17 win over Florida.

The teams combined for 43 hits in a July Fourth fireworks display.

The Rockies faced a 13-4 deficit through 3 ½ innings before producing six home runs -- two each from Ryan Spilborghs and Matt Holliday.

Colorado closed within 13-12 in the sixth inning, only to see Florida score four times in the seventh. Holliday, however, hit a grand slam homer in the bottom half of the inning to again cut the Marlins' lead to one.

Florida still had a 17-16 advantage going into the ninth, but Kevin Gregg (6-4) blew his second save in as many nights.

Clint Barmes and Holliday singled to open the inning and Barmes scored on a base hit by Garrett Atkins. Jeff Baker then grounded to shortstop Hanley Ramirez, but Ramirez booted the potential double-play ball.

That loaded the bases and Iannetta singled through a drawn-in infield to drive in Holliday with the game-winner.

Taylor Buchholz (3-2) worked the top of the ninth to get the win -- in just four half innings in which a run was not scored.
