MLB: Chi. White Sox 6, Oakland 1

CHICAGO, July 5 (UPI) -- Orlando Cabrera and Brian Anderson had two RBI each Saturday to lift the Chicago White Sox past the Oakland Athletics 6-1.

Chicago scored four of its runs on homers, with Nick Swisher hitting a solo shot in the bottom of the second, Anderson hitting a two-run shot in the fifth, Cabrera hitting a two-run double in the sixth and Alexei Ramirez adding a solo homer in the eighth.

Winner Gavin Floyd (10-4) gave up three hits in 7 1/3 scoreless innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Relievers Matt Thornton and Scott Linebrink mopped up.

Oakland's run scored on Ryan Sweeney's ninth-inning homer. He and Wes Bankston had two hits each for the Athletics, who had won two in a row.

Losing pitcher Greg Smith (5-7) yielded four earned runs and five hits in five innings. He hurt himself by walking six batters.
