Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

FREDRIKSTAD, Norway, July 2 (UPI) -- Abby Wambach scored the 99th goal of her international career Wednesday in helping the United States defeat Norway in an Olympic preview 4-0.
The teams will be in the same group in round-robin play at the Beijing Games next month and will meet Aug. 6 -- the first day of Olympic competition.
Lindsay Tarpley, Carli Lloyd and Angela Hucles also scored for the Americans, who have a 19-0 record this year.
Tarpley opened the scoring in the fifth minute and Wambach scored in the game's final moments.
The Americans will play Sweden in an exhibition Saturday before returning to the United States for their final pre-Olympic contests against Brazil July 13 and 16.
