SEATTLE, July 1 (UPI) -- Roy Halladay threw his 10th career shutout Monday, a four-hitter that carried the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Halladay didn't give up a walk and struck out six batters in improving to 9-6 on the season. He has won six of his last seven decisions.
The Blue Jays got RBIs from Marco Scutaro and Rod Barajas as they won their third straight. Scott Rolen collected three hits.
Mariners starter R.A. Dickey gave up nine hits but just two runs over 6 1/3 innings as he fell to 2-4.
Richie Sexson had two hits for the Mariners, who had a three-game win streak broken in the home debut of new manager Jim Riggleman.
After the game, the Mariners placed starting pitcher Felix Hernandez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 24, with a sprained left ankle. They recalled left-handed pitcher Cesar Jimenez from Class A Tacoma.
