
DENVER, July 1 (UPI) -- Edgar Gonzalez homered twice Monday, helping power San Diego to a 15-8 come-from-behind win over Colorado.
Gonzalez finished 4-for-5 with three RBI. Jody Gerut had a three-run homer and tallied 4 RBI and two runs scored as the Padres used a seven-run ninth to put an end to an eight-game losing streak.
Brian Giles added four hits with an RBI and a run scored, and Kevin Kouzmanoff went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
Heath Bell (6-3) got the win with a scoreless eighth. Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa allowed six runs on 11 hits over five-plus innings.
Colorado got a three-run homer from Brad Hawpe and a three-run double from Chris Iannetta. Todd Helton and Troy Tulowitzki added RBI hits for the Rockies, who have lost eight straight.
Brian Fuentes (1-4) was the loser, allowing five runs on five hits in just one-third of an inning.
Padres starter Greg Maddux surrendered eight runs on eight hits and three walks in just 4 2/3 innings to remain winless since May 10, going 0-3 over his last 10 starts.
