Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

OAKLAND, Calif., June 29 (UPI) -- Rich Aurilia slammed a two-run home run and accounted for five RBI Sunday, leading the San Francisco Giants past the Oakland A's 11-1.
John Bowker drove in two runs with a single and double for San Francisco, which won the last two games of a three-game inter-league series.
Ray Durham, Bengie Molina, Aaron Rowand and Jose Castillo each added an RBI for the Giants, who scored four runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth.
Jack Cust homered for Oakland, loser of three of five.
Winning pitcher Jonathan Sanchez (8-4) limited the A's to a run and four hits in seven innings.
Loser Joe Blanton (4-11) was pounded for eight hits and seven runs in four innings.
