MLB: LA Dodgers 1, LA Angels 0

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- Jered Weaver and Jose Arredondo held the Los Angeles Dodgers hitless Saturday night but the Dodgers scratched out a run to beat the LA Angels 1-0.

The Dodgers scored in the fifth when Matt Kemp reached on a fielding error by Weaver (7-8), stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error by Jeff Mathis and then came home on a sacrifice fly by Blake DeWitt.

Weaver went six innings, striking out six and walking three. Arredondo was perfect over two innings with three strikeouts.

The game will not be recorded as an official no-hitter, since it did not go a full nine innings.

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (7-7) went seven innings, holding the Angels to three hits while striking out seven and walking three.

Jonathan Broxton pitched a scoreless eighth and Dodgers closer Takashi Saito got his 12th save, despite giving up a hit and a walk.

Howie Kendrick had two hits for the Angels, who were shut out for a second straight night in the Freeway Series at Dodger Stadium and have not scored a run in their last 19 innings -- a stretch dating back to the eighth inning of Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals.
