FOXBOROUGH, Mass., June 28 (UPI) -- Steve Ralston scored two unassisted goals Saturday to lead the New England Revolution to a 2-1 Major League Soccer victory over Toronto FC.
Ralston scored in the 12th and 59th minutes, with both goals coming on rebounds after teammates hit the post and crossbar.
Ralston has six goals through just 16 games -- one shy of his career season high of seven goals which he's scored in three other seasons.
New England (9-4-3) extended its home unbeaten run to five games and maintained a four-point lead in the Eastern Conference over the Columbus Crew, who beat the Colorado Rapids 2-1 Saturday.
Toronto FC (6-5-3) got its goal from Maurice Edu in the 78th minute. TFC is 1-5 on the road this season but unbeaten at home in eight games.
