MLB: N.Y. Yankees 9, N.Y. Mets 0

NEW YORK, June 28 (UPI) -- Sidney Ponson and three relievers combined to throw a shutout Friday despite allowing 12 base runners in the New York Yankees' 9-0 win over the New York Mets.

The teams split a day-night doubleheader after the Mets had overwhelmed the Yankees in the afternoon 15-6, in a game played at Yankee Stadium -- a make-up game from a May 16 rain-out.
