DETROIT, June 27 (UPI) -- Eddie Bonine, in the third start of his career, gave up five hits over eight innings Friday in carrying the Detroit Tigers past Colorado 7-1.

Curtis Granderson had four hits for the second straight game, two of them triples. He scored three times and drove in a run.

Detroit has won 15 of its last 19 outings.

Bonine (2-0) was called up from Class AAA Toledo this month. He gave up Colorado's only run and did not walk a batter.

Joel Zumaya pitched the ninth.

Ubaldo Jimenez (2-8) lasted only four innings while throwing 103 pitches. He gave up four runs on nine hits.

Carlos Guillen drove in Granderson with a first-inning double and then scored on a single by Miguel Cabrera.

Granderson also scored on Guillen's double-play grounder in the sixth and on Placido Polanco's sacrifice fly in the eighth.
