SAN DIEGO, June 26 (UPI) -- Brendan Harris and Craig Monroe both hit two-run homers Wednesday and Minnesota overcame an early deficit to defeat San Diego 9-3.
The Twins won their eighth straight game, all against National League opposition.
San Diego took a 3-0 lead through two innings, but the Twins tied it in the third on an RBI single by Alexi Casilla and a two-run double from Joe Mauer.
Harris put the Twins in front with his homer in the fourth and Monroe finished the scoring with his two-run shot in the eighth.
Glen Perkins (4-2) held on for five innings to get the win after a shaky start, giving up three runs on six hits. Greg Maddox (3-6) suffered the loss while allowing six runs on seven hits in 5 2/3.
Minnesota swept both Washington and Arizona before winning the first two games of the series with the Padres.
The Twins' Justin Morneau went hitless in four at-bats to see his 12-game hitting streak come to an end.
San Diego has lost four in a row and eight of its last nine.
