
SAN DIEGO, June 26 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau had three hits and three RBI Thursday to help the Minnesota Twins beat the Padres 4-3, finishing a three-game sweep at San Diego.
The veteran first-baseman had a two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning and then added an RBI single in the fifth.
Minnesota's Brian Buscher had two hits, including a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth, and Mike Redmond had a run and two hits.
Winner Scott Baker (4-2) surrendered three earned runs and six hits in six innings, while closer Joe Nathan -- the last of five Minnesota relievers -- hurled a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth inning to record his 21st save this season.
San Diego got one RBI each from Brian Giles and Khalil Greene, who belted a solo homer in the second.
A run scored on Brendan Harris' third inning throwing error and Kevin Kouzmanoff had two of the seven hits for the Padres, who have lost five in a row.
