MLB: Oakland 5, Philadelphia 2

OAKLAND, Calif., June 25 (UPI) -- Emil Brown's three-run homer in the seventh inning Tuesday lifted the Oakland Athletics past the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2.

Jack Cust hit a two-run homer for the Athletics, who have won three of four and seven of 10.

Joe Blanton (4-10) allowed just one run on four hits and four walks in seven innings. He struck out five.

The A's had managed just one hit off Philadelphia starter Jamie Moyer (7-5) going into the seventh inning, but wound up allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in 6 2/3 innings. He recorded a season-high nine strikeouts.

Pat Burrell hit a solo homer and Ryan Howard had an RBI for the Phillies, who lost their season-high sixth straight, all to American League opponents.
