SAN DIEGO, June 25 (UPI) -- Brendan Harris and Brian Buscher homered on back-to-back pitches off Trevor Hoffman in the ninth inning Tuesday, handing Minnesota a 3-1 victory over San Diego.

The solo home runs made a winner of Dennys Reyes (2-0), who recorded the final out of the eighth inning. Joe Nathan threw a perfect ninth to secure the Twins' season-high seventh straight victory.

Justin Morneau and Michael Cuddyer each had two hits for Minnesota.

Minnesota starter Kevin Slowey and Padres ace Jake Peavy battled through the first six innings. Slowey fanned seven and allowed just four hits while not allowing any runs. Peavy gave up just one run on five hits with six strikeouts.

Hoffman (1-5) took the loss.

Chase Headley accounted for the Padres' only RBI in San Diego's third consecutive loss and seventh in eight games.
