LAS VEGAS, June 24 (UPI) -- Las Vegas police Tuesday announced an arrest in the alleged beating and robbery last week of Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker.
A suspect named Arfat Fadel will be charged with assault and robbery, KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, reported. Metro investigators also were seeking a second individual for questioning.
Walker was found beaten and relieved of his cash and jewelry on June 16 outside a nightclub shortly after he had been seen inside spraying members of the crowd with expensive champagne. The incident quickly became fodder for sports talk-radio stations.
Walker reportedly told the media had had been accosted and kidnapped from his upscale hotel.
Details of the investigation were not immediately available, however, KLAS said police believe Walker had willingly gotten into the suspect's vehicle outside the bar.
