
WASHINGTON, June 24 (UPI) -- Mike Napoli had a homer, a double and three RBI Tuesday to lead the Los Angeles Angels to an 8-3 victory over the Washington Nationals.
Howie Kendrick singled twice, scored twice and drove in a run for the Angels, who scored six runs in the first inning for a fast start in their fifth straight win. Torii Hunter went 3-for-4 with a run scored in LA's 10th win in 11 road games.
Jon Garland (7-4) earned the win after allowing three runs on six hits in seven innings.
Shawn Hill (1-5), who didn't make it out of the fourth inning in his previous start, gave up eight runs -- six earned -- on eight hits in a three-inning start.
Wily Mo Pena and Elijah Dukes each had a solo home run as the Nationals committed four errors and suffered their fourth straight loss.
