Cink moves to sixth in golf rankings

VIRGINIA WATER, England, June 23 (UPI) -- Stewart Cink used his Travelers Championship to move to a career-best No. 6 world golf ranking.

Cink, who hadn't won on the PGA Tour in four years, jumped from 12th to sixth in the world golf rankings released Monday. Cink won the Travelers by one stroke by posting a 3-under 67 in the final round,

Tiger Woods, who is out for the rest of the year with knee surgery, remained No. 1 for a 501st consecutive week. Phil Mickelson is second followed by Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy and Ernie Els.

Cink is in sixth and Steve Stricker moved from eighth to seventh, which knocked Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose each down two spots to eighth and ninth, respectively. Vijay Singh, ranked ninth last week, is 10th.

Jim Furyk, last week's No. 10, slipped to 12th.
