EASTBOURNE, England, June 21 (UPI) -- Agnieszka Radwanska downed Nadia Petrova 6-4, 6-7 (11-13), 6-4 in Saturday's International Women's Open final.
The Eastbourne, England, event was a prelude to the Wimbledon championships, which starts Monday.
The fourth-seeded Radwanska recorded three straight service breaks to open a 4-2 advantage in the first set and then squandered three match points in the second set tie-breaker before beating the No. 8 seed Petrova to claim her third tournament crown this season. Her first-ever title on a grass court was worth $95,500.
"I am exhausted after all these matches," the 19-year-old Pole told reporters. "The bad thing is that I am playing on Monday (at Wimbledon) so I won't have any time to rest."
Petrova, who was ranked No. 22 when the latest women's list was released last Monday, was making her first finals appearance in 2008.
She played despite a strained right calf.
Her first-round opponent at Wimbledon will be Olga Govortsova of Belarus.
