
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 21 (UPI) -- Greg Gross hit a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth Saturday to give Tampa Bay a 4-3 victory against the Houston Astros.
Geoff Blum's eighth inning fielder's choice ground-out had given Houston a 3-2 lead before Gross' game-winning hit.
He was pinch-hitting for Jason Bartlett with none out in the bottom of the ninth.
Tampa Bay loaded the bases when two batters were hit by pitches.
Justin Ruggiano hit a solo homer in the fifth.
Carl Crawford drove in one run and was one of three players with two hits for the Rays, who have won four of their last five games.
The winner was Dan Wheeler (2-3).
Houston's Carlos Lee had two hits, one a solo home run in the top of the fourth.
Mark Loretta drove in a run and Blum also had two hits for the Astros, who have lost nine of 10.
The losing pitcher was Doug Brocail (2-3).
