
BOSTON, June 21 (UPI) -- Troy Glaus hit a grand slam in the top of the second inning to key the St. Louis Cardinals' 9-3 victory at Boston.
St. Louis held a 4-0 lead when Glaus launched his 10th home run this season with one out.
St. Louis' Aaron Miles had two hits, including a two-run homer in the top of the first.
Jason LaRue had two hits and two RBI while Rick Ankiel also had two hits, one a solo homer, for the Cardinals, who have won two in a row after a three-game losing streak.
The winner was starter Mitchell Boggs (2-0).
Boston scored on Alex Cora's two-run second inning double and J.D. Drew's solo homer in the sixth.
Six players had one hit for the Red Sox, who have split their last four games.
In the shortest outing of his career, losing pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka (8-1) was torched for seven earned runs and six hits in one-plus inning.
He threw 48 pitches.
