SALT LAKE CITY, June 19 (UPI) -- Despite losing Jason Hernandez to his second yellow card late in the first half Wednesday, San Jose battled Real Salt Lake to a 0-0 tie.

Salt Lake remained unbeaten at home this season and ran its record to 4-5-4. San Jose is 3-7-2.

Salt Lake had the best scoring chance of the game in the 72nd minute when Kyle Beckerman drove a shot past goalkeeper Joe Cannon off a corner kick.

After a consultation between referee Jasen Anno and a linesman, however, offside was called and the goal was negated.
