MLB: N.Y. Mets 5, LA Angels 4 (10 inn.)

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19 (UPI) -- A two-out homer by Damion Easley in the 10th inning Wednesday lifted the New York Mets to a comeback, 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

It was the first win in two tries for Jerry Manuel, who was named interim manager of the Mets following the Tuesday firing of Willie Randolph.

New York gave up the lead when the Angels scored three times in the fifth and the Mets faced a one-run deficit heading into the ninth.

The Mets, however, came up with a run against Francisco Rodriguez, who blew a save opportunity for only the second time this year. Rodriguez has earned a save in 28 of the Angels' 43 wins.

Rodriguez gave up a one-out single to Jose Reyes in the ninth and Reyes moved to second on a wild pitch before scoring the tying run on a two-out single from David Wright.

Justin Speier (0-4) came on to pitch the 10th for the Angels and he gave up Easley's homer to left on a 1-0 pitch.

Duaner Sanchez (3-0) worked the bottom of the ninth to get the win and Billy Wagner came on in the 10th for his 16th save.
